Can someone tell me how to handle denominational differences in the Christian faith. You would think that by now I would have a great understanding of this, but I am worse off than I've ever been. I found out recently that there is a group of churches that believe the only way to salvation is through baptism, thus if you die before being baptized you will not go to heaven. Also, if your church does not adhere to this doctrine then it is not preaching Truth. How am I supposed to take this? How do you take it? It just reminds me of how many different Christian sects there are, all of which flow from the same stream. With such a divided people it makes working together very difficult. I cannot imagine any of the "salvation via baptism alone" churches to work with mine in redeeming culture. On the flip side, what are we to do with the "anything goes" type of church? I guess it all begs the question, is there a right theology/doctrine or is it all in vain? Are we, broken humans, ever going to get it right? Or do we try to get it right via our denominations? Let me know what you think.

Hey dude,
The denominational issue is a trick one, isn't it. There are many out there now who believe that the current reformation the church is experiancing will ultimately seperate the church into categories of orthodoxy rather than pre-dominant denominational ties. This is already being seen in the Episcopal church where the orthodox remnant of the church has been willing to allign themselves with other denominations over unorthodox congregations within their own denomination. So who knows, it will be interesting to see how it all pans out...
agreed
Bryan,
I've been attending church since I was knee high to a grasshopper, I've heard it all. The one thing I know is TRUTH is Faith. God said: "for whom so ever beliveth in me, shall have eternal life." Faith that HE is who HE says HE is. Faith that HE can and will hear you when you pray. I'm not an intellectual person, I just know that God is God and He said it all in John 3:16. I think being baptisted is a cultuaral church thing, what they believe must be done in order to enter the Kingdom on Heaven. We have had many conversations on a certain church and the way they teach. It's all in what one believes when one reads God's word and how they take that and implement it into their life. I think you are on the right path. God has worked in you in so many ways. He will guide you through this too.
